In June, the legendary troupe Cirque du Soleil will perform in Ukraine. It is a prominent representative of the contemporary circus art. Kyiv’s residents and guests will see one of the most recognizable circus performances, Alegria. This exciting experience will charm audience of any age.

Having won the hearts of over 10 million people in 65 countries, the show Alegria (literally: joy) tells about youth and old age, the nature of power and its transfer from generation to generation, the development of the world from ancient rulers to present day. Performance involves 55 artists from 15 different countries. The staging is carried out in the baroque style and is characterized by colorful costumes, original music and unusual stage arrangement.

Show’s lively and sincere musical accompaniment combines such styles as jazz, pop, tango and klezmer. Musicians play acoustic instruments, whose sound revives memories of stray artists, and noise and ‘voice’ of old streets.
