The international center of the contemporary art PinchukArtCentre, located at Kyiv's historic center, is Ukraine's capital's cultural pride. It's the largest exhibition area not only in Ukraine, but in the whole Eastern Europe. Large-scale personal and group exhibitions, seminars and master classes of prominent modern artists are regularly carried out here. On the one hand, PinchukArtCentre introduces Ukrainians to new tendencies in contemporary art, and on the other hand, opens Ukrainian culture to international tourists.

The idea to create the PinchukArtCentre belongs to the Ukrainian businessman Viktor Pinchuk, who is famous for his contacts with cult contemporary art figures. The gallery is located in the ancient building in Kyiv's downtown. In the early 2000s, it was fully restored upon the project of the famous French architect, who successfully added the six-storey building of the exhibition center to the Bessarabskaya Square's historical buildings. Four floors are occupied by the spacious exhibition halls, another floor is allocated to administrative offices, and on the last floor, the cozy SkyArtCafe and video-lounge-zone, where video materials are broadcasted during presentations, seminars and master-classes, are situated.

Center's exhibition area occupies more than 3 000 square kilometers, where exhibitions of international importance are carried out. The major distinctive feature of PinchukArtCentre's projects is the scale and internationality of expositions that represent contemporary art without any boundaries and narrow limits, the ability to make author's unique view and the concept of his creations - whether it is photography, painting, sculpture or installation - clear for visitors.

The works of Ukrainian and modern foreign artists are exhibited here. Since its opening in 2006, the PinchukArtCentre hosted personal exhibitions of such prominent figures of contemporary art, as Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, Elton John, Paul McCartney and many others. Besides large international projects, short-term exhibitions are regularly carried out in PinchukArtCentre within the art area of PAC-UA. Their purpose is to introduce audience to the interesting works of the modern Ukrainian artists.

Over the years the center has gathered its own, quite large and impressive, collection of contemporary art items. Most of them are works by foreign artists: Olafur Eliasson, Thomas Ruff, Sarah Morris, Subodh Gupta and many others. The PinchukArtCentre's collection also owns paintings by famous Ukrainian artists Ilya Chichkan, Arsen Savadov, Oleg Kulik.

The popularity of the PinchukArtCentre grows from year to year. This is indicated by huge queues lining up in front of the center on the exhibition opening days, as well as by big names of contemporary artists, exhibited in the Kyiv art center's halls.
