Festival of balloons "Cup of Podolye"

"Cup of Podolye" is a yearly festival of balloons, which is held in Kamianets-Podilskyi in the late May. The peculiarity of the festival is that flying of balloons takes place over one of the most beautiful towns of Ukraine, and, in particular, over the picturesque Kamianets fortress located on the nature-made peculiar island.

It is an unforgettable and fascinating spectacle, when dozens of huge balloons of various colors rocket in the sky. The salt of this colorful show is flying of balloons over deep rocky canyon of the river Smotrych. And its culmination is the flight of the competing crews under the ancient bridge "Swift Fallow Deer" on the altitude of just slightly more than 50 meters above the ground.

However, not only professional crews may enjoy the beauties of Kamianets-Podilskyi from bird's-eye view, but common tourists as well. The flight costs around 1000 UAH (100 €). After lending, everyone, who made the balloon flight for the first time, is being initiated in aeronauts through humorous ceremony and is given a certificate of honour.
