On June 18, the exhibition of old lady’s outfit and accessories – Museum of Fashion History – starts at the Kyiv planetarium. It took almost 30 years to gather this private collection consisting of almost 1000 items. The oldest exhibit was produced in 1800. The rarities come mainly from Western Europe and America; however, there are several dresses that belonged to Kyivan aristocrats.

The exhibition presents almost 80 fashionable ensembles that belonged to women of fashion of the 19th century: ball gowns and stoles for visits to the opera, visiting dresses, wedding dresses, and walking costumes, as well as varied accessories – handbags, gloves, shoes, sun umbrellas, fancy hats, and more.

In addition, six booths with underwear, which was hidden under the dresses of European fashionistas nearly two hundred years ago, will be shown for the first time. Now lace panties, bras, corsets, petticoats, chemises, peignoirs are exposed for all to see.

The exhibition will run until September 19.
