From December 11th to January 26th, the exhibition of the American photographer, traveler and teacher Jeff Zaruba will be held in the Kyiv’s Brucie Collections Gallery.

Chicago-born Jeff Zaruba studied at the University of Arizona. Having graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, he first worked as an assistant and then started his own career, which successfully lasts for more than 30 years now. Today, Zaruba is at home in California, but he can be seen more often in Hong Kong, Dubai, Mexico City or Venice, where the photographer is looking for inspiration and objects for his work.

Black-and-white photography occupies main position in author’s creative work. It is distinguished by strong graphic element. Jeff Zaruba calls such masters as Edward Weston and Paul Strand the photographers who influenced his style. Zaruba’s photographs feature play of shapes, shadows, reflections and light, which transforms objects – both natural and handmade – in new and often abstract pictures.

Zaruba’s works received recognition not only in the USA but also abroad and occupied a worthy position in prestigious private and corporate collections. The author has dozens of successful personal and collective exhibitions to his name. Nine of his works are listed among examples of the world best black-and-white photography.
