Wan Wusheng. "Celestial Realm"

From January 30, the capital gallery Brucie Collections will hold the individual exposition of Chinese photographer Wan Wusheng. For the first time Kyiv’s locals and visitors can take advantage of one of the most prominent representatives of Chinese modern arts’ works. He is known as a master of black-and-white photos, appraised by critics and collectors alike.

Graduated as a physicist, Wusheng was always fond of photography. He decided on dedicating himself to photography and applied for a job of photojournalist in local newspaper. At the same time he started the project that has been on for more than four decades already and brought the author to the worldwide fame – creation of the wonderful landscapes of the mountain Huangshan, one of the most beautiful locations in China.

Wan Wusheng’s works can be considered the photopainting. Behind the powerful aesthetic impression from the black and white “portraits” of the granite peaks drowning in clouds, lays a special, philosophic and meditative attitude of the author, who, by his own words, is still “shocked to numbness” by the wonder nature created.

Wusheng has already dozens of personal and collective exhibitions on his account; his works take honorable position in prestigious private collections and are on permanent display in the most famous museums, such as Viennese Kunsthistorisches Museum and China Art Museum in Beijing.

The exposition will be on till March 16.
