From February 7 to 27, the Kyiv City History Museum will house the exhibition of International Photojournalism Contest World Press Photo’s prize-winning photographs.

World Press Photo is the most authoritative international annual survey of the world photojournalism, which defines the standards in this profession. Photojournalists, agencies, newspapers and journals from all over the world present their works to the independent jury, consisting of professional mass-media photographers and photo-editors, who evaluate contenders’ works in nine different categories.

This year’s winners are 57 photographers from 27 countries. Exhibition’s key photograph is a mother holding her 18-year-old son, who was injured during street demonstration against the governance of the president Ali Abdalla Salekh, in Yemeni capital.
