Despite its name, the fashionable restaurant 'Old Zaporizhzhia', located in the old Kyivan manor at Podol, has nothing to do with Cossack cuisine. On the contrary, it was probably the first restaurant in Kyiv that offered French national dishes to its guests.

Restaurant's chef still treats his guests with exquisite French dishes: salad with lobster, frog's legs on leek bed, onion soup with cheese sippets, fried goose liver with apples, stuffed quails and so on. Restaurant's menu also has popular Ukrainian dishes: traditional vereniki with potato, red borsht, homemade meat jelly with horseradish. Moreover, 'Old Zaporizhzhia' offers a wide choice of European dishes: caprese with mozzarella di bufala and tomatoes, Italian pasta, Carpaccio, tar-tar from beef and salmon. Restaurant's own pastry - from grissini sticks with olives to marvelous cakes - is its pride.

'Old Zaporizhzhia's guests are offered to sit in one of five rooms, which have their own original style. The Piano Room, where live music plays, and the Hunting Room with fireplace are located on the ground floor. Pictorial and Mirror Rooms, as well as balcony commanding fine view over Kyiv's historical center are situated on the first floor. In warm weather you may sit at the restaurant's cozy terrace.
