The tourists will have an opportunity to save with City Card in Kyiv.

Kyiv is gradually climbing up in the list of the most frequently visited European cities: about one and a half million tourists have visited it over the last year. Since recently, Ukrainian capital has become even more attractive – now, the city draws tourists not only with plenty of age-old cathedrals, unusual museums and tasty cuisine, but also with an opportunity to save money on the trip. Since early summer, the official tourist card, which offers its owners discounts on many tourist services, is offered for sale.

City Card is a loyalty program for tourists, providing them with numerous privileges and advantages. It has already established a good reputation throughout the world, in particular in Europe and the USA. Kyiv’s guests will also be able to use the popular tourist service from now on. Owners of the loyalty Kyiv City Card can visit capital museums for free, get discounts in restaurants and hotels, save on bus city tours, on boat trips down the River Dnieper and on taxi services. Discounts range from 5 to 20%.

Kyiv tourist cards are divided in three types: a card for one person for three days costs 200 UAH, a card for one person for a week costs 400 UAH, and a group card for four tourists for three days costs 400 UAH as well. In addition, each card is sold with guide-booklet, where the Kyiv’s most interesting attractions are listed. These are monuments and museums as well as restaurants and hotels that participate in the City Card program and offer discounts on their services. The project Kyiv City Card currently has a hundred partners, and their number increases on daily basis. You can single out a facility that takes part in the tourist loyalty program by a sticker that is usually attached to the entrance door.

Owners of Kyiv City Card can save up to 20% of the order in the capital’s restaurants. It is pleasant to know that even if you have a card for one person, discount applies to the whole table. Therefore, the whole group can dine with one card. Hostels and middle-class hotels also offer a 20% discount for the owners of the tourist loyalty card. On the other hand, fashionable hotels that have declared their participation in the City Card program offer a discount not on all of their rooms: for example, premium comfort rooms are excluded from the program, which works only for standard ones.

The main peculiarity of the City Card in many European cities is the fact that it gives its owner the right to use public transportation for free. Kyiv Card doesn’t offer such opportunity yet. However, capital’s authorities assure that the fare-free use of the metro services will be available soon.

Kyiv City Card can be bought in one of the twelve tourist information offices that are situated mostly in the downtown: on Khreshchatyk, Andriyivsky Decent, Kontraktova Ploshcha, as well as in the Internet through the official website (www.citycard-ua.com).

In the future, city loyalty cards for tourists will be introduced in Ukraine’s other tourist centers – Lviv and Odesa.
